On Oct 2nd, 2019, Ms. Dao Thi Hiep, The Head of Physiotherapy Department, Faculty of Nursing and Medical Technology, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine was graduated Doctor of Philosophy Program in Department of Physical Therapy (International program) from Mahidol University, Thailand. She is the first Doctor of Physiotherapy in Vietnam.
Doctor Dao Thi Hiep has succeeded beyond the Board of Directors’ expectations. This great achievement was also the foundation of the new professional development program of the Physiotherapy Department in the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Technology.
During 4.5 years of study in Thailand, Doctor Dao Thi Hiep achieved the three highest awards from the Faculty of Physical Therapy at Mahidol University.
– 1st award: The first graduate of the class for student of Doctor of Philosophy Program in Physical Therapy (International program), Faculty of Physical Therapy, Mahidol University, Thailand
– 2nd award: Postgraduate student had the publication on BMC Medical Education under Springer Nature system-a one of the most international reputation publication journals
– 3rd award: The first graduate research publication of the class for student of Doctor of Philosophy Program in Physical Therapy (International program), Faculty of Physical Therapy, Mahidol University, Thailand

On October 2, 2019, Dr. Hiep officially received a Doctoral degree from the Princess of Thailand (a highly respected cultural tradition in Thailand). This was a remarkable event for the Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty Medical Nursing at Medical University Pham Ngoc Thach, which officially had the first doctor in Physiotherapy and also brought a message for future Vietnamese generations about global friendship, wisdom, common aspiration for peace and human happiness.
